OIL IN AIR INTAKE
I took off the stock air inlet tube from the SC to the front of the ski today to start the home-made system. I noticed quite a bit of oil in the tubing from the oil breather line to the SC. How much is normal? Obviously some is because of the breather, but how much is too much. Also, does the motor use the vacuum created by the air intake to create more of a crankcase vent? If this much oil is spewed from the motor while using the crankcase breather, does it cover the whole eng. comp.??? Thanks for any help

Does this oil in any way help lube the SC clutches? Don't know if thats even a realistic question, but might as well ask......

Some oil is perfectly normal. If you oil level is too high you will have more oil present in the intake than that of a machine with a proper oil level.
This oil in no way lubes the SC clutch's as the clutch is located inside the PTO housing and not outbound with the SC impeller.

Is the crankcase breather an effective solution for this or just reinstall the breather line into ne intake hose/pipe?

I think R&D makes a crankcase breather. Jarrett just ordered one so maybe he will chime in on this.
Im all for getting the crankcase vent out of the air intake as oil eventually makes its way into the intercooler coating it's coils making it less efficient.

I use the JAZ one pint mini breather that I ordered from JEG's and have it beside my air filter in the front storage compartment of my GTX.

I installed the breather 20 hrs ago on both my skis, works great.
Used a K&N filter from the local car parts store plumb it in to the hose.

I will send pics as soon as Hurricane Emily gives me a chance to get to the shop, still a bit windy here.

Here ya go Shep..A 3/8" hose goes to the breather valve through the drilled hole towards the bottom. This was a piece of clear plexi that I purchased, dremeled, and drilled from Home Depot for $12 and made another access panel block off.
