That would be typical of something Polaris would do! Check the back of the CDI to see if that's where the yellow writing is...at least that's where I've seen it sometimes.

Why I ask, is because im currently rebuilding the engine, and while I wait for the parts to come back from the workshop, I would just check all other things that might be a problem. And I have read a lot of electrical problems with the 1050, so I just wanted to use the sparetime to check if I would have these stator problems.

I will let you guys know if it runs, when the engine is assembled again... thanks for you help so far, I might need you expertise later on...

Check the back side of your CDI for another part number, possibly hand written in yellow.

Post a photo of the back side please

send your stator to jetski solutions. they'll test it out and see if it's fine or needs a rebuild. If it's fine, it's nicer to be out a few $$ shipping and testing for peace of mind than $200+for a new ignition.

Is there another part number on the back side of your CDI, marked in yellow?

    Hi guys,
Here is a picture of the back of the CDI unit.

K447: There is some sort of writing, not in yellow, but white.

Crazy: I will repair the crack in the hull, before it goes into the water.

    Arrow CDI part number 4010885, is actually 4010447 (900 & 1050 Update Kit 2873091)

The original stator design will have all fingers covered with windings.

The CDI that comes in the update kit has the part number 4010885 crossed off, and part number 4010447 written in yellow paint marker...

Well, that is a rather casual way for Polaris to go about correcting a production line problem - hand labeling update CDI units with only the last three digits of the corrected part number, and not covering over the incorrect part number on the front side

It appears that CDI units with a front side part number of 4010885, are actually part number 4010447 (Ignition System Update Kit 2873091 for 1996-1998 900 & 1050 domestic engines), which may be hand written as just 447, in either white or yellow, on the front or back side.

Were some of the other ignition update kits (2873022, 2873355, 2873356) also marked/modified in a similar manner, or just the '447' CDI?
