Perchik Check the filler neck and see it its molded to the tank or you have a filler tube clamped to the filler neck on the tank ... That should let you know if yours is in it ... After talking to a friend of mine who is a tech at the local kawi store, he said the ones shipped in the US have had the problem tanks replaced already. might check to see if your might have slipped thru the cracks so to speak.

Better run the HIN again. Mine has the soft rubber tube clamped around the tank and it appears to be affected. I thought after reading the posts in here I was safe, but potentially I am not. The recall may or may not require maintenance depending on the fuel tank manufacturing lot numbers installed on a machine. As I don't have access to the affected numbers by Kawasaki publication, I cannot give exacting details. Rumor is that affected lots are from 02000-08000. Think the JS 09 02 at the top right of the document was a date? My ski is a 2008 model.

Re: 2008 STX-15F Fuel Tank Recall
After receiving recall letters, I called Kawasaki and was given the following info about the recall.

The affected BMS manufactured tanks are lot numbers with the first three digits 010 through 033 and 121 though 130, all with the last two, of the five digits, 08.

The Acrotech manufactured tanks are all OK.

This makes one of my skis OK and the other needs a tank replacement.

So this one is ok huh? It'd be nice to have something in writing from the manufacturer on this.

That one appears to be OK per the infor I was given on the phone. I'm taking mine to the dealer soon for the check. Then I'll know if he has the same information.
