I don't think I ever uploaded this white cover I did back in 2016. It's an M-Line off ebay. Still doing great.

2006 RXT double seat using Blacktip covers. I'm getting too old to stretch these marine vinyl only covers into place. I think it's Jettrim or M-Line here on out. This one took some repairs.

Anyone have advice on patching this before I install the new cover? Or should I sew it?

Not a stock cover. Is there a cover under that?

I have purchased this stapler: https://www.harborfreight.com/20-gau...sugg_q=stapler. I cannot find the 7/16" x 5/16" stainless staples (22 gage wire). This stapler will shoot T50 staples however.

Do you guys think using T50 stainless staples will be OK. The staple is more of a "strap" as oppsed to a fine wire.

    Thanks

Dimensional (width/depth) there are about the same - yet as you refer, they are roughly twice as wide. So, the two issues I foresee is, having trouble getting the gun powerful enough to get that wider staple to penetrate the hard plastic, yet not too powerful as to plow it entirely through the new cover material - trust me, that's very easy to do (plowing), especially when preserving the OEM cover underneath.
The other issue, is that the T50 might be a bit sharper on the outer edges, thus more prone to rip the cover over time. I've used T50 on motorcycle seats before - again, its about the power sweet-spot of the gun. Side-note: regardless of staple type, in order to help prevent future tearing, I like to add a skin of construction adhesive between the seat plastic and the new cover just before stapling.

I've got a Harbor Freight electric stapler that I've used on a seat with marginal results. Don't know about their pneumatic stapler.

    This looks good: https://www.ebay.com/itm/9615A-Pneum...6b5f788045246c

This isn't the exact one I use, but it comes with an assortment of different length staples, which can be important when you have folds in material.
