    SIG SAUER’s P320 X-VTAC

SIG SAUER’s P320 handgun line is the darling of the firearms industry right now. Fresh off of winning the new pistol contract with the US Army, the pistols have garnered a lot of attention from the shooting public lately.

One of the newest variations is the P320 X-VTAC. This new gun was shown at the SHOT Show back in January and is available exclusively through Talo Distributors. A sharp eye will recognize the gun immediately as a P320 variant.

However, there are a number of changes from the base pistols sold by SIG SAUER. Here’s a quick rundown on the gun should you be interested in picking one up from your local gun shop.

I felt this one up this one last weekend. It's way too big and ergonomics are horrible, at least for my hand. Trigger is weird looking. I think the big benefit is the modular design/compatibility, which is actually pretty cool.

    PRO TIP: Don't do this...

Desert Eagle vs. Book Body Armor:
Woman fatally shoots boyfriend in failed YOUTUBE stunt

    • .50-caliber Desert Eagle pistol
    • "She shot from about a foot away while Ruiz held book to his chest"
    • "We want to be famous!"

Ruiz held up the book — described by County Attorney James Brue as a hardcover encyclopedia — and Perez pulled the trigger on a .50-caliber Desert Eagle pistol, trying to see whether the bullet would go through...

"He had told me about that idea," the aunt told the TV station, "and I said, 'Don't do it. Don't do it. Why are you going to use a gun? Why?' "
She quoted him as replying, " 'Because we want more viewers. We want to get famous."

Retails for $918. That's nearly double the price of the base model 320 for a different grip module, Grayguns trigger & FO sights. A bit steep IMO. You could get a complete Grayguns competition package for less than that. If I wanted a competition 320, the x-series is probably the coolest. The lightening cuts on the slide & weighted grip should make it much more balanced. The full size gets pretty front heavy as you empty the mag.

You'd probably do better with the stock grip. It's grooved at the top where your thumb & trigger finger sit, so it would feel a lot slimmer. I really wouldn't recommend buying a 320 now though. Since the Army's announcement, EVERYTHING for them has been hard to find. It kinda takes the cool factor out of modularity when all the modular parts are backordered. The caliber x-change kits were hard to find when I bought mine a year ago. Now, forget about it, & it's even hard to even find grip modules in some sizes & colors..
