found out what my rxp is running with the intake grate
Well im disappointed
on my friend Mitch's gps I'm running 66.2 at best in semi calm water. Only thing i could think of was that my oil is too high, but I cant do ne thing about it since I dont have an oil pump
so I guess im stuck running 66mph for the rest of the weekend till tuesday when one of my dad's friend's ski shop is open and i can borrow an oil pump from him. On another note i rode a Rotax Racing Stage 1 rxp today and I have to say I love it
(fastest ski I have ridden yet). It is soooo much faster than my stock ski and handles a lot better. It belongs to my friend Mitch(mitch411RXP on Riva's forum) and when he was riding it he got i think 72.4 on his gps and it was a little choppy. The one thing I love the most about his ski is just how the supercharger sounded so awesome taking off
. I know for sure now I'm gettin the riva sponsons and block off kit from just feeling the difference in his ski and .

You are stuck running "only 66 on less than perfect water" ?
Just 2 years ago if you had posted that people would have told you to stop reading your speedo and get a GPS.
I don't think you have a problem, 66 is perfectly normal (and pretty damn fast).

Well last weekend it was like 90 degrees out and I was turning between 8000-8050rpms the whole day and today it was bout 80 degrees and i was only turning 7800rpms at best. My ski has bout 55hours on it and i changed the oil last week. So my friends Mitch and Jay think my oil level is too high.

What's up with the oil level? Too much oil slows you down? What should the dip stick read?

you deffinitely lose rpms if your oil is too high. rpms=speed. it should be 1/2 way between the bend.

read your manual about how to check the oil level too. it's not like checking it in your car! there is a procedure.

Well my rxp is running really good now.
Last time out it was running about 72mph. Basically what's on it now is pretty much everything you are allowed to do for stock class: sponsons, prop, intakegrate, air intake, stock class rotax ecu, filled rideplate holes, trued grate to rideplate, skegs, and can't think of anything else i have on it. Still not up to par with what my friend's stock class boat was running(73-74mph), but this year holeshot is more important than speed since I'm racing closed course.

I fill mine to the yellow pull handle. I don`t want it to burn up.
