rpm?
when doing top speed runs my 06 rxp will turn 8100, trim set at 2 notches from all the way up
if i put trim all the way up rpm's drop off like 50 or so, is this the reverse bucket in the way?

Thats normal. You are over trimming it and trying to lift too much of the hull out of the water.
Best top speed is usually achieved two clicks above midrange
