Lower RPMs?
Hi....I am new to this site, and must say, the forum has tones of useful info, not to mention cool pics.
My RXP tops out at 7400 rpms, which the spec according to my dealer is 7800-8000. My RXP was topping out at just over 8000 rpm PRIOR to the 10 hr inspection. So I am not sure why there is a difference now. After owning a lemon of a RX DI, I am aware of how the machine performs...paranoid I guess.
When I mentioned this to my dealer and brought the machine back they looked at it, conversed with BRP and replaced the supercharger. Still no difference.
I have never beached this machine or sucked up anything, at least to my knowledge, so I do not suspect any damage to the propt or wear rings. Also I have not done any mods, although reading all your postings is convincing me otherwise. So does anyone have any idea as to what would cause this drop in RPM's. We have three other RXP's in our family and compared to mine they all seem faster out of the hole.

First thing to do is check your oil level following the procedure in the manual or the "Important RXP Info" section. They probably just overfilled it and that will cause the engine to slow down.

Hey Jarrett..Thanks, I'll check that. I also thought maybe the plugs were not gapped properly since they did replace them, but I guess they come pregapped?

Hey north 49...I live in Toronto area...Some of it could be the air temps we are getting lately...Our machines don't like humididty..But more than likely the dealer over filled your oil...Check it CORRECTLY though...there is a certain way to do it so you get a proper reading...
I think it is posted on here somewhere...

low RPM's
Hi two2curupt......I thought of the air quality thing, but it ran the same way in the Ottawa river in early spring. Maybe 100-200 Rpm better because of the cold water and air. You guys are probably right about the oil level being too high.
Where do you normally ride?

Check those plugs...no they do not come Pre-gapped. To many different uses for the same plug to have a universal gap. You would be surprised how many people take them out of the box and install without checking, though.
