1995 Sl 750 Mfd
I have a 1995 SL 750 and the MFD no longer works at all. I have owned for about 8 years and 6 years ago the speedometer, fuel, and oil functions stopped, over this last winter the whole thing went dead. Common theme with both times was a battery that went dead.
I saw where there is a procedure for diagnosing the problem starting with checking the fuses in the "black box" on top of the battery. Does this fix apply to the SL750 and are there any issues with keeping this box watertight once it is opened?
Any other suggestions as to the best way to diagnose/fix the problem with the MFD?
Thanks

3 WELCOME to the Green Hulk Forums!!!
First check for power and ground to the MFD.
Position one is red/purple and that will be +12volts
Position two is blackand will be ground
If there is no power to the red/purple split the electrical box and check the 1/4 amp fuse.
If you have power and ground to the MFD, disconnect the electrical for 2 hours and plug it in again, press the mode button and see if it comes to life.
If it doesn't fire up, look at replacing the MFD.

The 1/4 amp fuse was blown in the electronic box - I replaced that and the MFD came back but very faintly, I was able to set the clock and it shows hours, RPM, and trim - it is still saying low pwr - but voltage is fine. Time for a new/rebuilt MFD?

You will need to do the re-set procedure on the Lopr deal.
Press and hold both buttons until the CAL lights up and then while holding the right button, press the left 3 times and you should see the voltage correct itself. Sometimes you must do this procedure a few times but it should re-set the voltage meter.
