More SC questions
I may be a little confused....If I understand correctly the SC through 05 use the ceramic washers that are subject to breakage but they have changed them in all of the 06 models. Is that correct? Pre 06 models can be updated to the new washers correct? If so wouldn't it be wise to change the washers before they fail instead of waiting until they fail? What all parts need to be ordered to do this and what does it cost? Is there anything that I should be aware of as far as the 06 SC? Do you need to shim them? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum Darrel.
04 & 05 use the same clutch/shaft while in 06 Sea Doo updated to a thicker shaft and slightly thicker washers.
All 3 model years use ceramic washers.
Here is the 06 spec clutch shaft kit:

The hot ticket is the 06 spec clutch kit, but instead of using the ceramic washers replace them with the metal ones.
You only have to shim if necessary.

Thanks. Can you just replace the ceramic washers with the steel ones without buying the whole kit? Also what is the purpose of SC clutch?

Do you have the part numbers for the steel washers? Also what is the purpose of the SC clutch anyway? Thanks.

if you have an 06 the problems were solved. If it ain't broke don't screw with it. I have an 03 and mine was changed out under warranty back then. Put at least 80 hours or more a riding season on mine and haven't had any problems with the clutch on the S/C.

The '06 clutch does not solve the problem of ceramics shattering. Its best to update to the metal washers. (available soon in the online store)
The clutch is there to protect the supercharger shaft. Without it you would twist the shaft in two when coming unhooked/rehooked.
