Had to be towed today...HELP!!!
I have a 2006 with riva efi controller, head, prop, and what nots. Was cruising down the bay today and the ski just shut off. No warning nothing just dead. I disconnected the efi controller and plugged in the normal plugs and nothing. When I put the key on and hit the start button I don't get my normal display on the gauges and I can hear a sound coming from the electrical box. Anybody have ANY ideas? Thanks for any help.

Happened to a friends ski today though it didnt shut off during running he just couldnt get it started when we put it in the water, it too was making that funny sounding noise coming from the electrical box when trying to start - turned out to be a bad battery. May try a new one

I thought about that but thought since I had been riding it for awhile it wouldn't just die like that. I guess I could try one though. I hope it's something that simple.

Isnt a ski like a car and runs off charging system. So like a car you can unplug battery and it will still run. Alternater in car will keep it running and charging system will keep it runnin in ski? Just a thought. If your battery has good voltage and correct cranking amps then its fine and dont waste ur money buying one.

Sounds like you blew a fuse. Remove the large threaded cap on your black coil box and check all your fuses.

try hooking up another battery and see if it starts. May be that your charging stator took a dump and your last ride or two you were running on the batter only. you would be amazed how long the ski will run on a good battery, ask the guys who run total loss. The buzzing sound in the electrical is usually associated with a dead battery. Have you ever gotten any water in the hull that may have leaked into your flywheel cover. you may of had a bad gasket and corroded the unit inside also, just a thought.

Starter Solenoid my guess......
check all your battery connections and cables and grounds.

The battery is on it's third summer but would it just make the ski shut down like it did while I was running? That seems odd.
