New Issues
I have the ski running and it seems to be running well. The last few things i would like to address are the it hits the rev limiter taking off very hard for probably 3 seconds trying to get out of the water. runs about 6950 - 7000 Rpms on top at about 63 MPH on Speedo Seems high on the RPMS and not enough speed.

Pull pump & check condition of wearring, they are only like $50.

Would that be for both issues or top end or low end?

Yes, for both. If you aren't GPSing your ski, then forget the stock speedo. It is always innacurate and varies it's reading.

I agree with the posters above. Get a new wear ring. Check the condition of the prop. Use a GPS if you want to check speed.

Yeah i agree what has been said. Sounds like you are cavitating. Maybe some dings on your impeller, gap from wear ring to impeller is bad. Also make sure that jetpump housing vanes are in good condition that can affect performance.

Cool thanks guys I did use the GPS to get a good top speed reading, but its to hard to hold it and use it all of the time LOL I was trying to use speedo just as a measure of better or worse. I will use the GPS from now on if they are that unrelilable. Does anyone know wear ring to impeller gap for a 98 XPL? The guy I bought it from put a Skat Trac impeller on it. I have no idea about pitch or blades yet. I will check the stator and gap probably just get a new wear ring as it isnt that expensive. Where is a good place to order one and are there different sizes?

Sorry another question. I am putting the motor back in my GSXL 951 I had to do the top end and pulled the motor out. I took the stator cover off but havent unhooked the oil injection except from the tank. The question is there a way to bleed this. Should I have to if I am premixing the gas for the first tank? If there is a small air bubble will it work its way out? I was going to make sure oil was to the end of the input hose, but I didnt see a bleeder screw or anything like that.
