hydro turf removal and preping
I did a search but what I'm looking for was not found. I got all my old turf off but it left behind this seran wrap type adhesive paper on the hull. I tried acetone and Goo Gone and it's more difficult then when I did my other two skis. any suggestions on something that will eat this stuff off?
Thanks
Cam

I just did mine about a month ago and I used gas and and this stuff called "lift off" that I got from Home depot. I would spray it on and used a razor blade great neck and and it would just come right up.

Get a eraser wheel like what bodyshops use , to remove pinstripe and glue left behind moldings etc.. It got mine right off stinks a little like burnouts in a car but works great. It will take about 2 of them they run about $12 a piece then install them into a cordless drill or a air drill.

I got most of it off today with a razor, goo gone , sand paper, and elbow grease. It wasn't too bad. I only have the tail section left. I scuffed the seran wrap stuff with 100 grit paper (probably could have gone a little more with a ruffer paper). Then I hit it with Goo Gone and it came off with a scraper blade. It rolled up like little boogers. Once I got up a good amount I vacumed it up with my shop vac and hit it with the sandpaper again. In all it was not bad. I finish the tail section tonight or tomorrow.
How long should I waite to hit the water after the new matt is glued? I'm planning on going out Sunday or Monday.

goo gone and a razor... you got to let the goo gone sit... and keep it wet (don't let the goo gone dry, keep adding more) It will become a gooey mess and slide right off.
