Be very careful. My friend wanted to do this and I warned him about the exhaust cooling and possible heat damage. The water exit from the j-pipe and the water box play a critical role in keeping the exhaust cool so that it doesn't burn through rubber hoses and plastic fittings. Rather than listen to me, he removed the waterbox, flipped the j-pipe, and hooked it directly to the rubber hose. 30 minutes into the next ride, it blew a hole through the $75 rubber hose and nearly sunk the ski.

If you keep the j pipe it would be fine as long as you dont ever take on water for some reason. This is basicly what the gibson is. I would hook up the extra water line somehow though.
