A freind of mine has a R-12x and was needing to change the wear ring! How do you change the wear ring? step-by-step. thanks for the help.

There is No changeable wear ring on any model Honda made to date. The pump stator must either be repaired or replaced.

I am not sure if anyone else does it but I have been using Scott @ exall tool in New Jersy for 3 or 4 years, He bores out the old liner + .060 and presses in a thicker wall new liner with same ID. Just did a 02 Honda for $225 last Feb. Have his # out in the shop. PM if interested.

How long will a pump stator last or how many hours before you change one? And thanks again!!!

Depends on how and where you ride. You want .02-.04 (inch) of clearance. Tighter the better.

Most pump stators last 100's of hours, providing you don't ride in low depths (less than 3 feet) with sand and rocks.
