Which combo suit to buy?
Ok, so up here in eastern WA it's still pretty cold. One of the lakes I ride at just got another foot of snow on the tenth, and everywhere the water temps are still pretty dang cold. Im trying to decide between new Slippery Matrix combo suit or the Jet Pilot John and F-35 jacket. I want a combo suit because most of the time I ride it's a bit chilly so a jacket would be nice. So yeah, does anyone have any opinions on either one or am I completely missing another, better option?

What air and water temps do you want the suit to be good for?

The coldest air temp I'll ride in is probably only the 40's, maybe upper 30's, but I def. be doing a little more layering. Water temps will vary from about 45 to 75. I'm not too worried about thickness as I've gotten away with under armour before and I never ride alone. Also for the fact the the colder temps will be more of a rare occassion, the majority of my riding will be in low 60 degree water and up with air temps usually mid 60's and up.

Nope, June 10th, crazy... I know... It's been a strange year, just hasn't really gotten warm at all. But yeah, I won't be riding when its that cold very often, but its really nice on the river sometimes when its like that.
Anyway back to my original question, between Jet Pilot and Slippery is there much of a difference or am I alright either way?

A slippery john and jacket with boots and gloves is good down to around 65-70 degree air and water. Below that I would suggest a 5mil diving type wetsuit (john and jacket) like a Henderson or equivalent. With the john and jacket you will have 10 mil over the core of your body. I have a jacket that has one leg you step through and the other has the zipper attached. You will also need 5 mil boots and gloves. Then you are good down to 50 degree air and water. You'll need a helmet to run in 50 degree air also. Goggles won't cut it, your eyes will water. You can wear the john or jacket alone depending on the water and air temps. Remember, although you may not need the coverage for the air temps alone, you need to be perpared for the cold water should you go for a swim.

Yeah... well mainly the suid will be used for the warmer weather, whenever it will be colder out I will be right along with a boat, mainly I'm lookin for something that will give me a little more comfort during normal riding. What I'm really looking for I guess is a comparison between my two options. Thanks for all the info that it will def. help me later on down the road I have a feeling.
