    oil pump

    can someone they me the proper way to eliminate the oil pump...need to leave the big oil lines hooked up right?? this is on a 96' GTX

    Yes leave the big lines hooked up, they lube the rotary valve. You will still need to keep some oil in the oil tank but not much...a 1/4 tank should be ok. What I did with my XP when converting to premix was to cut the two small lines from the pump about 6 inches down and plugging them both off. You can leave the rest of the lines from the intake block and plug them too unless you have a really good way to block off the oil intake ports. You should also disconnect the cable, and remove the drive shaft behind the pump. Before you run it make sure you drain your fuel lines and carbs. It doesn't take long on straight fuel to seize a two stroker.
