SUBSTITUTED BY 2201627 (Incl. 1, 2, 3) (Incl. 1, 2, 3) (SKU: 2200884) (Superseed: 2201627)
iv got 2 pistons kits -p/n 2200682 are there any differences from a 2201627 or a 2200884
why are there 3 part numbers for the same part ? did they need to recycle the number or was there a problem with them ?

The 700/1050 piston was changed a few times since '96. They changed the rings a couple times, then they got rid of the "boost port" hole. As long as they all have the same "dykes" style rings (L shaped and is at the very top edge of the piston) and either all have the hole or all don't have it, you should be fine.

I found that the 2200672 ,3 or 5 appear to be the original piston released, have the boost hole and black rings.
the 2200883,884,885,have the boost hole and the top ring has a chrome edge.
the 2 2201626 I have do not have the boost hole in the piston, but have a chrome edge on the ring, this should be the latest piston released by Polaris

Pistons
Read the top of the piston# to tell which rings to use as they are different cut rings. Also the new 2201627(Oversize) has a nitrate pin in it and is the latest release of piston
