removing and installing mats on a 15f
im needing to replace my rear boarding pads on my jetski due to my neighbors cat using them as a scratching post!
ive never had to replace any before and im not sure the best way to get them off. what do i use to get the old adhesive off? and when i install the new ones back on what should i use to glue them back. hydroturf says use weldwood contact cement but the local lowes doesnt carry that. is there something else similar they carry i might could use?

hello,
I think you can buy the adhesive from the hydroturf people.. if not them i think you might be able to get it from Riva.

I took the adhesive off Goof Off. Denatured alcohol works well also. Both Home Depot and WalMart carry the Wellwood Cement. It's in the paint department. Get the Gel type... it works faster and goes on easier...

buy the hydroturf with the peel and stick adhesive already on there.
i have installed dozens of sets of mats, the contact cement works great, but its a PITA compared to the new peel stick they offer.
to remove the glue use the 3M adhesive remover and it will not damage anything at all....

If u can live without the raggedy pads kawi put on, peel em off, clean off the glue, then get it sprayed with bedliner coating. U get a non-slip surface that will be there for good. Had it done to mine 2 yrs ago and no problem since. Plus it can be colored to match ur ski!

I bought my 15f used so the matts were starting to lift up. I used the Weldwood gel glue on the lifting edges without even removing the old glue and it have been holding great. Good stuff. I figured if it wouldnt hold I would remove it all and replace it but it has been holding great.... a very fast and easy fix!
