Welcome to the board shaunh!
...
although you will prolly recieve many oipinions here on what ski to get, it is really up to what you like best overall about each machine. The GP1300R and the RXP are like comparing apples to oranges.
GP is a 1300 2 stroke and the RXP is a 1500 4 stroke...
as much as I would like to enlighten you on both scenarios bc I have owned the GTX SC 4 tec and currently have a 2008 GPR, you really should visit the dealerships, and sit on each model, go over the equipment with a well qualified salesperson.
I will let the forum members do the comparisons between each model for you!.. Good luck in your decision...PR...

welcome to the forum. As Pale Rider suggested is good. It would help to sit on each craft to get a ergonomic sense for your self. If possible, maybe you can demo/test drive each craft to furthur help in your decision.

As much as a LOVE my RXP...........LONG LIVE THE 2 STROKE DAMNIT!!!
But try both. Stock versus stock a RXP will woop a GPR. GPR is slower out of the hole, but top end is very close and the difference won't matter to the average rider (1-2mph). For a drag race ski I like the RXP. I mean a GPR can be made MEAN, just takes a lot of wrench time...........but man we could discuss the differences all day...you HAVE to ride both and see for yourself then figure out how much and what type of modding you want to do or any mods for that matter. Good luck!

I don't have an RXP but I do have a GPR and an Ultra 250. I have ridden the RXP and on a lake in chop at high speed it SUCKS! go with the GPR.
or maybe look at the ultra 250. my GPR had 190 hours before it ever went back to the dealer. I bet their not 1 RXP out their that can say the same
