Some sources for Polaris parts.
Start with Babbitts.
There are others, of course.
Replacing the steering rod seal;
Remove the fittings at the end of the rod, pull the old rubber seal off, slide the new one on.
Check the steering alignment after you get it back together (per the service manual).
Polaris says not to re-use Stainless Steel cotter pins, since repeated bending fatigues the metal.
I changed mine to marine 3/8" cotter rings.
$4 for 10 - SS, easy to remove, re-usable, and it won't snag clothing.
If you can, get some waterproof lubricant up the steering rod cable sleeve, while you have the sealing boot off.
BTW, has anyone used Watcon.com's Cable Luber?
