Questions about a 2003 GP1300R/Fuel Injection
Friend of mine bought a 2003 GP1300R on EBAY a year ago, never test ridden, then sold it to another co-worker, never test ridden. Finally got it out a couple weekends ago and it does about 40 mph.
We discovered the new paint job included a whole lot of white powdercoat into the pump, tunnel, shoe, driveshaft, impeller and exit nozzle. I didn't think it completely covered the loss of speed and complete lack of acceleration.
Discovered oil pump not hooked up properly, cable not even hooked back up. Considering converting a 1300R with 145 hours on it to premix--are there any issues to worry about with fuel injection? Secondly, the ski has DEFINITELY seen salt water, and is there a way to unbolt the FI from the crankcase and have it checked out?
