My (almost) free OPAS block-offs
Since I blew my wad on the ski and basic performance parts (thanks GH!) I figured this is sumtin I could do for nuttin. Since I already had the mat'l laying around as scrap I didn't need to buy anything new.

Nice job, but give us some details on the parts and procedures you used.

Thanks, it was very easy, but a bit time consuming. I never count my time as I always work cheap
The part I don't feel the best about is cover for the linkage hole in the pump area. I got lazy and just filled it with epoxy then put it back on. Might change it to aluminum later, but for now it's just fine.
The outside cover is there until I can get a filler block made (like RE or Riva only different). It's just a 1/4" 6051-T6 plate drilled to fit the four holes. There is a clearance hole on the back side to go over the head of a small screw (factory). I used the stock gasket on both the inside cover & the outside (gasket is a one piece tube). Sealed with silicone and used spacer washers on the back of the four screws so I didn't compress the gasket too much.
I used black powder coat, but paint or polish will work as well.

Yeah, I thought about that. I wish I had some black epoxy coloring - that would have been better. The point was to do it w/o buying anything. I didn't want to have to run to the store for plastic paint that won't stick anyway. If I'd spent the time to d1ck around with that I'd as soon made them out of aluminum. Which in hind sight I should have done anyway
I'll do that when I get to the filler blocks.

That's how the dept reps are talking to customers who call in with questions, etc. As long as they aren't chatting w/ their GFs, it's OK. At least you know where they are
At HD you can't find anyone. That's the first sign of a company going under - seen it many times.
