Outerwears Pre Filter for Spectre 9735
I am trying to find the correct Pre Filter from Outerwears for the Spectre 9735. Does anyone run one that is running this filter. I wont have time for a few days to get to my ski to order the correct Pre Filter...Pre filter part number or dimensions of the Spectre 9735 so I can order a custom Pre Filter from Outerwears..
Any info would be great..
Thanks
Jim

is this for a 4tec??
what is your location of the spectre??
not many people are bothering with outerwears if the filter is located up front somewhere...

Yeah its for an 06 RXP. I have the filter sitting right on top of the gas tank engine side. I seem to be getting water on it from around the compartment up above. The last two times I rode the ocean there seemed to be some water marks on the filter. I want to make sure the filter stays dry....

is your intake tube, the one from under the glove box removed???
i assume it is if you got your spectre way up there.
just move your spectre back towards the front of the tank, more towards the stock location of the original intake, with an extra foot btw where the air/water comes in under the glovebox, and the spectre, the water wont make it into the intake, but the air flow will not suffer.
check your rpm right now...
move the filter to a safer spot more forward...
then check your rpm after...
i bet there is no change.
just less chance of water intrusion.
btw the only reason i am not advocating a prefilter is bc they can reduce airflow, and thus your RPM can be reduced...

I have removed the stock air completely. I would like to use the Pre filter when I am in the ocean as water gets everywhere up front. I dont want to risk any water in the intake. I have already injested water into the engine via the big 4" kanaflex. I will take the Pre filter off when I am in fresh water. Wrap it when ya need it and go commando when you know its safe...
Thanks for looking out though I appreciate it...

FYI if anyone else is interested. I got this email from Outerwears...
Thank you for your inquiry regarding a Pre-filter for Spectre filter 9735. After doing some research, I show that filter is a 6-4 ¾ taper, 6 tall. I do have a Pre-filter for that size, PN 20-1278. Your price on that is $19.95 plus shipping. If you’d like to place an order, please visit our website at www.outerwears.com. If you select “search” and type in the part number, it will pull up the different listings for that Pre-filter. You probably won’t see the specific Spectre filter listed as we didn’t have a cross reference to that number.
Thanks again and I can be of further assistance, please let me know.
