Lake Whitney
Over Memorial Day weekend my boss, his family, and a couple of other families went to Lake Whitney and stayed at the Red Wood Lodge. They had found the Lodge on the internet and it "looked" like a good place to take families.
It was run down and when they told the clerk that it didn't look anything like it did on the internet she said, "I'm getting tired of hearing that." The pool and restaurant were both shut down. The owner took 10% off of their bill.
There was a bar right behind the lodge where the locals came early and stayed late. Because of this they had to keep a close watch on their kids while they were playing outside.
They left their skis on the water at the dock overnight, the next morning all the gas had been syphoned from their skis.
They did have a great time jet skiing on the lake. They said that Whitney was a great place to ride, just be careful where you stay.

I think I will be sticking a 2" ball valve in the filler neck on my skis. That just sucks.

Whitney is beautiful, but it's in the sticks. Sorry about the rough time.
We put in on the Brazos and ride in to Whitney, go back and tent camp. LOTS of stars on the Brazos.
