I need help with FX HO Mods
I have an 06 FXHO and I'm at a loss as to what else I should add to it and where I should get it from.
I already own the RPM kit from Riva and have been using it for the past year.
I think it's time for a new ride plate and Impeller as well as any other suggestions any of you may have. I'll look into everything.
Thanks

Use thin washers on the front 2 bolts of the plate to angle it, while being careful not to bring it lower than the hull or pump shoe. I've seen someone mention gains 1-2mph. Also fill in the pump shoe and ride plate bolt holes with epoxy (aquamend from home-depot is good). Search the 2-stroke forum for details on the hole filling

Awesome, I like little quick-fixes like that.
Someone suggested a ride plate from Jim's Performance.
What performance differences could I expect from one?
How about that R&D Nozzle and Intake Grate?
Is it worth replacing Riva's Intake Grate?
I guess the Nozzle is obvious.
I'm having a problem with cavitation on low-end.
Using the Solas Dynafly Impeller (YG-DF-14/20)

A plate by Jim gives about as much gains as angling the plate with washers (from what I've seen mentioned). Steering nozzle would be mostly for safety and possibly handling if it has the "quick-turn" adjustment. If you are lucky, you can maybe scope out a metal SHO nozzle for $25. About the cavitation - have you fully sealed the pump shoe with silicone and is the felt strip still in tact on the shoe? And finally, I would replace the RIVA grate with an R/D because there was a report on here of a RIVA breaking and tossing the rider. R/D has two bars and riva has 1, so more prone to breaking.

I will attempt to complete the Pump Shoe processes today.
I didn't have any of that done. Thanks for the SHO Metal Nozzle suggestion.
I found an anti-cavitation cone from R&D I grabbed it as well.
Thanks again.

It's time that I replace my Impeller.
Should I stick with the same one from Riva?
Or should I get a different pitch or brand for less $?

i have the rpm kit from riva fitted but have since made the following changes
1. jims plate .3 mph faster than the best speed with the riva plate adjusted for maximum speed (shimed and front corners ground off to alow plate to sit further forward)
the jims plate handles much better than the riva plate at full speed in rough conditions and in glass
2. solas intake grate i have not trued this to the pump shoe yet but the ski is already showing higher speeds than previous
3. CR9EK spark plugs these have definitely improved the top end ,but i have not tested the top speed in my usual spot to see if my previous best can be beaten but in normal riding it has alowed me to keep up with a ski that used to be able to drive away once the fuel load was low enough
4. i also have an R&D steering nozzle but did not notice any speed gain

as far as a new impellor goes
if you need to replace the existing one i would get a trued one from one the places that does them (impros, island racing)
