Engine reinstall 2002 RX
I'm getting ready to drop my 951 back into the hull and I have a couple questions. First off I am going to align the engine. How close a tolerance is the alignment? If I get it within an 1/8" or so is that good enough or does it have to be perfect? I noticed that the drive shaft as a bit of a ball shape to it. Is this to allow for the alighnment to be out slightly?
I also noticed in the service manual that there is supposed to be a small amount of 40 weight oil put into the case when the engine is put back together. I take this to be to lube the balance shaft. I didn't put this engine together and not sure if there was oil put in there. Is there a way to check this? Can you see oil in that small hole? Thanks for and help in this area.

if there is any, its probably done, but do check and ask the builder if he did,
take the pump out and borrow an alignment tool

I appreciate the reply winterstick. I've got an email into the builder now so hopefully the oil is a nonissue but I want to be sure. As for the alighnment tool, I have one as well as a set of shims. I'm just wondering how close the alignment has to be. Since there are only 2 thicknesses in the pack it would seem it would just be luck to get it perfect.
