I think I got a slow 250X.
What do you guys get speed wise on your speedos? My 2008 seems to only top out at about 62 m.p.h. indicated by the speedo. This is at like 7800 RPM or so.
My sons 2007 RXP smokes my 250x with ease. Both bone stock.Last edited by SRTOutlaw; 06-03-2008 at 12:39 AM.

I got 68.8@7720 with the Riva plate with half tank.
You rpms are very good so i guess its a speedo problem.
I smoked an rxp this weekend.
Get a GPS and a riva plate or "lure" him to some rough.Last edited by GODOSIDIS; 06-03-2008 at 01:11 AM. Reason: !

Dont go by the dreamo-meter, get a GPS and get your true speed, the RXP runs 67-69 stock, you should be running 65-67................If you wanna beat him, take him out in the rough and see what happens........
You can adjust your speedo, just loosen the 2 allen bolts on the speedo wheel on the back of the ski, slide it down to raise the speed on the gauge............

I think your right ultra250tn. I think my speedo is just reading slow. I think I'm really going a solid 65 mph or so. I will get a gps. Is there any gps you recommend?

Kinda OT, but....
My wife's 250X keeps beating my RXP so I'm not sure what to tell you. Weight difference between her and I? I don't know. In the Doo's defense, it has been less than desirable waters. Funny, cuz when I tell her it'll be a different story in smoother water, she talks shit and says "You'll still lose!"
I plan on trying to bust her ass at Mudbug (where the waters in Morgan City looked like mirrors).
250X has a ride plate, sponsons, and modified grate.
RXP has intake grate and block-off plates.

Oh, and like already mentioned, buy a GPS, as your stock speedo is never accurate.
CASE IN POINT: some dude at our local lake told me last weekend that after he added a ride plate, his speedo has indicated to him, on many occasions, that he's doing 95mph. He said it never did this before the ride plate. He understands that he's not doing anywhere near that, but still....that is bizarre. He rides a red 250X at Canyon Lake, just North of San Antonio.

Yeah, and he mentioned that, too. Meaning, he mentioned (supposedly) knowing that the stock speedos only reached a certain M.P.H. and he couldn't understand how/why his was doing that.
He also mentioned knowing of a 100mph Ultra "somewhere" on the web. I told him to quit believing everything he read on the internet and that you could probably count number of 100mph PWC on one hand and that none of them were Ultras (or even Kawasakis).
I'm trying to get him to start posting on here.
