Rebuilt carbs, still having problems
Sent the Raider into yamaha and had them rebuild the carbs. They took it out and tested it and they said it ran good. I got it back and took it to the lake near by and it did the samething again. It would not turn over because the guy didnt turn the gas switch to off and the cylinders filled with gas. Why are they filling up with gas when it just sits there?

if the motor filled with gas, the needles and seats were leaking.

agreed! but if the vent failed it may create to much psi and force gas past a good N&S but only if it surpassed the psi of your popoff ( not likley unless it's really set low )

well they should have checked pop off when they did the carbs this would verify the condition of the needle and seat! however the vent would be iffy to say if they should have caught it? lets see what they tell u! if they come back and say you need a needle and seat ! you say fine I'll pay you 16 bucks for it or each since that is the part cost and they don't really deserve any more labor IMHO Z

Yea, I don't know what his problem was. He is even a mechanic and he didn't have the time and he didn't want me doing it either. I will see what they tell me. They will call me when they figure it out, which I Hope isn't too long.
When I went to start it I was so mad at the time I was gonna call Mark and just tell him whats going on. I didn't have time to because I had to be back home and to work in time so I just gave it back to them and told them what was wrong and have them look at it when they can.Last edited by codemanrose; 06-02-2008 at 11:08 PM.

open the fuel cap and see if it still does it....this would eliminate the tank vent.
