2006 Rxp
Well I picked up my first ski on Wed and got a chance to play with it today. WOW this thing is fast. I do not know how close the stock speedo is, but it said with me and my wife on it on slick water 69 MPH. Never could hit 70 on it. It was a blast. I do have one question about it though. The idle is between 1800 and 2000. Is this normal? It just seemed kinda fast 3 MPH and idle. Thanks in advance. Would love to get together with some people and ride sometime.

1800-1850 is perfectly normal. If it seems too fast at times pull out the reverse lever a little to cut the speed. Also remember to vary those speeds during break in. Enjoy!
BTW - 70 mph on the speedo equals around 67-68gps.

My ski runs 78 mph and 69 is all it does on the speedo. Two up its only 73.5 so on a stock RXP I'd say ya are about 65 tops two up.... 1800 is about the norm for idle @ about 4mph

My '05 RXT when speedometer was on 70 my GPS would show 63 my GTX is only 1 MPH off. I guess the speedometers are not very accurate.

eric idle
Although I'm a newbee I can tell u this- the race boats I run (19' v hulls,) the higher they are strung the higher they idle and thus the faster they go when in idle. I tried an "out of the box rxp" last year and it idled at 1800, I don't know how fast it was going 2,3,4?? My stage III rotax idles about 1850 cold and 1800 warm but does move faster on idle then the normal rxp.
