Intercooler for a GTX-SC?
I currently have the RIVA Stage I kit, thermostat kit, and stage II SC impeller. Does anyone know if it is possible to install a intercooler on a 06' GTX-SC (185 hp)? It seems a waste of a SC without a intercooler.

Welcome to the GH forum.
Yes it can be done very easy. I ran an ic on my 185er. Same install is on 215 ski except you dont have to remove the stock ic. Check out my thread "tested new mods with results" and you can see install and info on 185 hp gtx.

I looked at your thread and saw the IC upgrade on the RXP but not for the GTX-SC. I was told that a ECU would be required for the GTX-SC. Did you make any modifications with the ECU?

That thread you read was from 05 about the ecu upgrade and since then many have run with ic on 185 ecu with no problems. I think on page 6 of my thread I start to install ic on gtx. I noticed more power with ic compared to without. I never upgraded the wheel as that was my next mod before trading in for the T-X. If you are going green wheel then get you an ic. You can also upgrade to 215 ecu as long as you dont go higher boost than S3 wheel on you cast pistons. I will say that 67 mph was all i could do with 185 ecu. I think to hit 70 you need to reve to 8,100 rpm.

Thanks for the information. What was the brand of IC? I am not sure what you mean by the boost. I purchased the wheel/turbine from RIVA and it is supposed to be compatable with my ski as long as I run a deeper pitched prop.

Everything you need, if it fits an RXT it'll fit in a GTX.

Rule of thumb is 1 ft/lb for each pound of boost.
