cant seem to find oil threads ???
I cant seem to find the "What oil to use threads" I want to go riding tomorrow and I'm not going to have time to order Amsoil. What oil should I run in my RXP ? I have Castrol GTX 10w-40. Is this ok to use ??

thats fine,
if you want better, get seadoo oil, that costs 4 X as much,
imho just run the 10w40, and next time you will have the amsoil if you want it.
theres a new amsoil synthetic for marine use that is what i would get for the next oil change in my ski, but i am currently using castrol GTX also.

Castrol GTX is NOT JASO MA certified and it contains friction modifiers. Sea Doo oil, Amsoil, Mobil1 Racing 4T (what I use), plus one or two others are the consciences recommendation.

Factory Sea Doo Oil. Keep the receipt, mark the hours for records, when Ka-boom happens....there's no finger pointing. You use what's recomended. = peace of mind.

If you still can't find it....It's right next to "Bilge Pumps" section.

Keep it simple stay with Seadoo (BRP) oil. Carry an extra quart, it always seems your friends need to borrow a little. Oil for beer

I personally say no to the BRP oil. I prefer a synthetic oil with a quality filter. The BRP oil is way over priced and most peoples ski's are out of warranty anyways. If it's under warranty they would never be able to prove what oil you used in the first place. If you bought a car would you continue to go to the dealership to by the branded oil and filter for the life of the car? Got way more money invested in a car. If an oil is good enough for a Japanese made engine that is turning more than 10,000 rpm in just as extreme conditions as ours then I see no problem with it. With Mobil1 4t and a K&N filter I see no problem with going 30+ hours between changes. Maybe more and change just the filter after 20-25 hours. That would be around 1500 miles of extreme driving in a land based vehicle. Seem reasonable.
The Amsoil is probably the best but I like the convenience of being able to get my oil at the auto parts store.
