SL750 problem
So i have a 95SL750 that will not idle below 3000 rpms out of water. This is what i have tried with no luck so far. I replaced the stator with a brand new one. I checked compression and it was 120-120-125 and i was told that is good. I checked for spark on all three and was getting a spark. I rebuilt the carbs and checked the reeds while i was at it and they where fine. So i am running out of ideas on what it could be. Any help would be nice.

What is the problem?
Does the engine quit if you let the RPM drop below 3,000RPM?
Slightly high idling RPM out of the water isn't a problem, per se, as long as the in-water idle RPM is close to spec.
According to the 1992-1998 Service Manual, in-water idle should be about 1,300RPM (1993 SL750), give or take. Out of water, with no load on the jet pump, the idle will be higher.
When you rebuilt the carbs, did you set the adjustment screws to the factory spec, especially the low speed idle adjustment?

Yeah the engine quits below 3000 rpms in water and out. I did set the carb to factory settings so i am really out of ideas on what would be causing the engine to just cut out at anything below 3000rpms. A buddy told me to check the oil pump to see if it is pushing to much oil into the carbs. Which makes sense if there is to much oil it would cut itself out. If you have any ideas let me know.

How strong was the spark? Try cutting 1/4" off the plug wires and see if that helps.
Have you ohm tested the coils? Have you ohm tested the plug boots?
What spark plugs are you running and what gap are they at?

Look in the tech section under Fuji electrical. All the specs are there.

If it has a d plate installed on it than you need to make a “chip” for...
1300R, exhaust beeping.
