98 GSXL noise
Well I tore the motor out of the GSXL and found some piston damage front and rear of the pistons both pistons scored some on front and back. Enough so it will need to be bored and new pistons. Are WSm pistons any good I was looking at some with a coating similar to the SkiDoo ones I bought for my snowmobile? This is the one I posted about having a knocking noise at idle and just above. The other thing I found was missing rubber buttons on both ends of the driveshaft One of them must be the noise.

WSM pistons suck, and are the worst quality. Hence the cheap price.
Buy once-over OEM's. Getting them coated is a waste of time and money without having a reason to doo so. Adding a pipe and compression is what I'm talking about.
Piston scoring is from water intrusion and/or lean fuel mixture. Preventing both of these occurrances will negate the need for coating.
Make sure the machinist clearances from the new piston skirt at .006" clearance, if you want to have a reliable rebuild.

By once over do you mean the next size up because that goes to my next question the pistons in it have 100 on the top do you suppose it is .10 over or actually 1.00 over?

Oh, that's not good! That means it has already been bored over .010", so stock pistons can't be used. Stock ones are .25mm over.
Your best bet is to but ProX pistons. They are the second best after OEM.

Some sanding on the piston I found it was 1.00 over thats not good I dont think. I imagine I will be looking for a cylinder or replacing 2 sleeves in the damn thing. Where is a good place to pick up some pistons at a decent price. I am not doing so well with these dam nthings nothing but trouble so far. I just bought them not even an hour I noticed the noise tore it down and the pistons are damaged cylinder already bored to max not good
