701 timing
How do you set the timing on this engine. I had to replace the under flywheel coils. I see the mark on the case and the stator plate. Do I just align these marks.

Oh, forgot to mention. Rotating it counter-clockwise increases the timing..

Oh, okay, when you say up, would that be in the direction of rotation. And how does this increase the "ooomph"?
Btw, all the fuel that I have seen lately is at a premium!!!

Anytime you increase the timing you will increase power....to an extent anyway... However, without running premium gas you run the risk of detonation which will destroy your motor...
If in doubt set it to stock and be done with it..
