Power filter Intake
Just installed R&D power filter intake on 05 GTX ltd-
Lost 1 to 1.5 mph-(GPS) from run 2 hrs earlier?????????????- (changed oil & filter at same time)
Was later in evening- Temp was cooler but maybe more humidity- BUT SLOWER????
This seems wrong-
Will recheck all tommorrow and retest-
Also- I didn't know that you couldn't put your rear "tray" back in or rear Vent tube with this set-up-
Might just buy 4" flex and make my own!

How much oil did you take out? How much did you put back in? (are you overfilled)?

The R&D air intake is right by the exhaust J pipe. The hottest possible place you can put it.

Now I see that- but only warmed up ski 5-6 min before test run- not enough time for heat soak to be a problem -one would think-
Anyway did first test run with same 5 min warm up-

Even before a "complete" warm up, the temps are much warmer in that location than the stock location up front. I would have to think that pulling in the hotter air is the culprit.

Underseat Temps
Got 2 remote digital thermometers and placed in engine compartment for a test run today.
Attached #1 sensor to positive post of Battery(seems like close to where riva filter starts)
Attached #2 sensor under rear seat-high- to Flush connection
Results
Ambient-86f- Water 86f
#1 sensor came up to 96f after warm up period-
#2 came up to 110f
#1 cooled down after cruising- 40-45mph cooled down to 90-92f
#2 remained high-over 110f
114f high cooled to 104f was minimum
Changed #2 position to front of R&D filter- same readings as before- over 110f.
Ideling or high speed runs increased #2 to 125f
High speed cooled #1 to 90f.
Even after shutdown- # 1 remained 10-12* cooler than #2
#1- 109F #2 126F
Why did R&D pick this place for a filter????
WOW
Anybody want to buy a slightly used R&D filter set up------------
