Pics of how I setup my GPR Race Seat
Awhile ago i had been asking how people were securing the seat pan to the actual seat with the Riva/Bullett seats and fiberglass replicas ...
when the replies were along the lines of.. just firing a bunch of rivots in there, i knew that wasn't gonna cut it for me
so before the seat pan was foamed or covered or anything, i secured these fasteners to the seat pan with epoxy and a little square of fiberglass to keep them locked in place and flush so i couldn't feel them thru the cover.
stainless steel t-nuts and i flattened out the prongs a bit
now the seat pan is at jettrim getting foamed and a cover made for it, hope to have it back shortly!

okay, cause I got this exact seat..
but the guy I'm getting it from is installing like the seat cover and painting it..
and were using like 2 inch thick padding so my a** won't hurt
but he doesn't know if we should glue it or what cause staples wont go through, i just dont want glue to come undone?
thanks shib!

Dangit Steve, I thought I had it figured out and would be satisifed with some plastic push trees, now I gotta go find some dzus fasteners for the new idea you put in my head. . .
How is Jettrim doing yours? Price? I have a appoinment with a local upholsetry shop this week, $120ish will some sweet carbon looking material and two layers of thick padding, firm and soft.

hallpass... the glue should be fine.. it holds hydroturf on no problem, the seat should do well.
Jay... the seat cover from jettrim is like 89 bucks i think, plus 35 bucks for foam or something they said... naturally shipping was a killer from NY to AZ, ouch
i went to a few local places, didn't like the materials they had as far as medium slip and such, and i knew jettrim has already made these and it would be a perfect fit so i stuck with them
and the plastic push threes crossed my mind as well! but i needed these nuts to lock into the actual seat to stop the seat pan from flexing. if you put the seat pan on the ground and push the center, it flexes out, whereas with metal kind of studs sticking out and overlapping both layers it will take away that flex so the hardware doesn't stress the fiberglass too much and wind up ripping out anyway... ah we'll see, lol
