Metal SC washers
Has anyone figured out how to get metal washers to last? Shim after only 2 hours shim after3 tanks of gas. The metal washers last just can't keep tension on them.

Stan, are you using the Les Cooke washers? I believe it may be the coating on them. As the coating wears they loose tension.
The ones im having made will have no exotic coating on them.
What type of oil are you using?

I have about 15 hours on my LC metal washers and it still pulls top rpm, no problems, but my riding is pretty calm water, easy on the washers too. Running Amsoil JASO MA wet clutch motorcycle 10w40 oil. Just curious if others are losing tension with the metal washers, mine are fine so far ...

I have about 15 hours on Careys ski with metal washers and no issues.
I did lose tension on my ski after about 4-5 hours and had to shim.
Im turning 8800 RPM's though and running the heavy B kit impeller.
Stan, arent you running the even heavier C kit impeller?

So you install the metal washers then pull the SC after 15 so hours and shim them ?
Could you just shim them from the start and have a 15 hour break-in ?

les's washers we have them on both 13 & 14 psi. We do wide open take offs & chop the throttle at wide open. Run hard in the chop also, the 3 worst things for the supercharger. 2 hours of abuse should equal 10 hours of flat water riding. The new pressure washers didn't seem to help.
