Greetings all! This thread brings you to a broken motor mount situation. I purchased a running 1997 XP 787 / 800 with a broken motor mount. Motor mount itself is easy enough, BUT I pulled the coupling cover and found the dampner basically ruined (Looking for one or two of these if anyone has one...flower shaped...eight thing).

My question is...What should be the clearance between the engine coupling and driveshaft coupling? The alignment (up/down side to side) seems fine, but the gap (front to back) between the two seems a bit much. Currently the fingers of one coupling to the face of the other is approximately 17/32. Is this correct? If not do I fix it by simply sliding the engine back? Or is there something out of adjustment at the other end of the extension shaft?
