Yes, this is becoming very frustrating..Riva site still says April and here we are rapidly approaching mid May....What gives?? Now out of the middle of nowhere, R&D releases this grate in plentiful supply....
I'll tell you this, if that R&D grate provides 3+ mph as a "Single mod", then for 160 bucks, I'm all over that. I just hope it's not false advertising and you have to spend a hell of alot more to achieve that. I'v eseen too many deals that look too good to be true and hope this is not one of them.
Riva's claiming 4+ mph for their entire stage 1 kit? hmmm let's see some quick math here...
$160/ 3 mph = $53 per mph - hell not bad at all, then fill the rideplate holes for the extra 1 mph.
Now let's just say 1200 for Riva's stage 1 after shipping....then add install labor..
$1200 / 4 mph = 300 bucks per mph plus install cost. I checked and my dealer wants 399 to install all the stage 1 stuff so in reality, I'm in the hole this much...
$1600 / 4 mph = 400 bucks per MPH -WOW!!!
What do you guys think about all this???
Right now, I'm leaning on buying the R&D grate if it truly stands up to the claimed mph, the solas prop, a gibson exhaust (when they finally get it ready for the X), and maybe a couple more items depending on how I like the set up.

He just got 69.7 on his stock RXP-X. Not superman, but stretched out to the back of the seat. It took a while to change the grate because he did it on a floating dock by himself, but he's heading out RIGHT NOW to test the R&D grate.

1st run with new grate = 70.7 crouched back on the seat. 2nd run with new grate = 72.1 mph in full superman. Fuel is approx. 2 bars (about 4 gallons) all at 1 click above neutral. He's going for a run with the VTS at 2 clicks above neutral right now.

2 clicks above neutral = 72.3 mph 8160 then 72.4 right after. Just hit 6 hours on the clock. 59 degrees outside, 69% humidity. Approx. a 2.7 mph gain. No loss in RPMs. Unmodified R&D grate, no buck, no cavitation. He's very happy with the ski and the grate as well. He obviously is planning on tweaking/changing the prop to get the RPMs down. More to come fellas, that's for sure.
IMO from hearing the test results, I'd say it's good for an honest 2-2.5 mph 100% apples to apples comparison. I don't know why R&D chose to make a 3 mph claim, but maybe others will see that gain as the grates become more common.
