Ride Plate Holes Filled: Lost Speed?
What do you guys think, I filled my ride plate holes with JB Water Weld and I lost 1 mph and about 120 rpms. Before filling the holes my best speed was 69.7 at 8040 rpms on smooth water. After filling the holes and sanding smooth, my speed is 68.8 and 7920-7930 rpms on smooth water. I thought I would gain about 1 mph, but I lost 1 mph, ANY IDEAS?

I would be looking somewhere else for your speed loss.
A real hot day will cause you to lose RPM's/speed as well.

The big thing could be, was there any difference in the temperature of the water? Increasing temps of the water reduces the intercooler efficiency so you could lose a lot there.
