The Real OEM Polaris 1200 Hood kit 2202735 L@@K Pics
Well i ordered and installed it myself. Its was kind of a bitch to install but everything went well overall (it sucks when you do not have the correct drill bits
). I ordered it from ingles performance in phoenix, ny and had it with 3 days. I thought it was going to be something completely different. But here it is :
Overall if this manages to pop open and break, instead of hitting me it will be thrown around, enough time to stopLast edited by K447; 08-14-2014 at 02:11 PM. Reason: Added part number 2202735

Dude did you pay for it? I spoke with the dealer in Ohio and he said that it was a service bulletin and if I brought mine in he HAD to install it at no charge and if he didn't the dealership would get in trouble from Polaris if they checked records and saw it was in and the issue wasn't corrected by them.
Maybe get your dealership to reimburse you the cost of the kit?

Polaris Hood Tether Kit 2202879 (1998-2001 SLH, SLX, Pro 1200)
Very interesting!
So this is what the recall fix turned into, no longer just the triple pipe hood kit.
I didn't know there was a fix that didn't involve deleting the hinge function...
Would it be possible for you to scan in all the installation instruction pages for us?Last edited by K447; 05-11-2008 at 09:11 AM. Reason: typo

Well honestly im inpatient and i bought the kit for 29.00 bucks. It would have been for free if i left it there for a week. But if i figured in the gas to bring the jetski out there and bring it back, it all added up. I didnt want to wait, i wanted to ride : )

Makes sense for $29.00 bucks and some time. A week is not worth it. What is the Upper Polaris Star made of (where you attached the cabling system)?

I'll take some pics later of the triple pipe hood kit I have installed. I have to hit bestbuy this morning to get a new laptop as I tripped over the power cord on mine and crash (literally & figuretivly) Have to use my wifes Hello Kitty screen saver model to post LOL.

When you were talking hood kit earlier, I thought you were meaning the one for when you install tripple pipes. That one is just for a safety recall that Polaris had.
