Noob Flushing
Just tried to flush the engine since I haven't in a few runs. I couldn't get a "trickle of water" to come out of the bypass outlet. Water was coming out near the impeller and the bilge for a while then stopped. Then it started smoking near the impeller! (This was only for a few seconds though.) I cut off the water then reved it to get excess water out then cut the engine off ASAP.
I'm assuming the exhaust got really hot. If smoke occured for a few seconds do you think this damaged anything??
I re-inserted the key to see if the diagnostics would detect overheating but it never did.

Smoking? I've seen steam many of times but never smoke, you probably saw steam. It takes a few secs to a min to get water really rolling out the grate.
