since that wasnt enough on my plate i decided to misplace that plastic thingy that goes on top of the battery and use some electricians tape,,,well the sea was angry that day and i didnt use enough tape cause you know how $ it is .
when the motor died i opened the hatch and couldnt even see the motor with all the smoke.
Bent two pullers trying to get the flywheel off before i used a recipe from green hulk for a homemade puller
got a stator and cdi off ebay and it ran better than before .
Then i was able to figure out a much heavier duty coupler where the insert doesn't turn into dust and then get the water comming from the jetpump . almost hits 70 going downstream
you could use a coupler setup from a MSX

Hey! i am sorry for the delay the way things have been going i figured i better update for everyone that helped make it possible before the world ends.
the speed seems to be in the 65 kmh range even 70 on a good day going with the current and a low gas tank .
thanks for the suggestion lugs , the new insert i use is beat up ,looks like its missing 3 fingers but that is 2 summers worth of wear.

The factory PWC ran around 48 MPH, so 43 (70 KMH) is a solid result in a boat. Nice job.

The ski was right around 500 lbs. Any idea what your boat weighs?

What RPM should that motor spin for peak power?

Tach graphics arc in the photo looks like 6000 or just a bit more.

That MFI can display digital RPM, just press the Display button to switch the bottom text to RPM and speed.

Hmmm, the 15.5 volts reading seems rather high. Either the MFI display is out of calibration on volts or the LR voltage regulator module is not regulating the charging voltage properly.

    That's an interesting answer.

    According to the manual:

    1993 SL 750 78 HP @ 6500 RPM

    1994 SL 750 80 HP @ 6150 RPM

    1994 SLT 750 80 HP @ 6250 RPM

    1995 SL 750 80 HP @ 6000 RPM

    1995 SLT 750 80 HP @ 6000 RPM
