98 gsxl takin on water
i put it in today and it ran fine for about a half hour then it bogged for a while then ran fine i got back home and its has water 3/4 up the battery i checked all the hoses and fittings inside and they dont leak could it be taking on water from the seal on the pump or an o ring?

It may be coming from your carbon wear ring around the drive shaft...
back it in the water and see if it leaks. Have you moved the engine? you may have a broken motor mount.

Look in the rear of the steering nozzle & you should see 2 white tubes sticking down from the venturi nozzle,if they are missing then water will fill back in the hull.
This was a bad problem with 1998 Ltd models.

Slide SS ring rearward inside the hull, which will expose a metal clip in the groove on the shaft. Slide off C clip. Remove the small PTO boot clamp from PTO. Remove the pump. Slide the drive shaft out the rear of the ski. Catch SS ring in hand (so it doesn't roll under the engine), and replace carbon ring.

Dealer. Them sticking into the jetstream at the angle they are creates a suction, when one or both fall out it allows water to be pumped into the hull.
