Oil Question
I had the dealer change my oil at 100 hours, then I had a problem with the impeller, got that fixed, and now back on the water, this was the first run out sense dealer changed oil. I think everything ran fine, but I noticed bit water oil in the drain plugs. Keep in mind I had just replaced driveshaft, and impeller, so I have a bit of oil that came out at that time. So I’m just guessing that was the oil that was in the hull, but to my oil question…
I am almost level but 2 degrees off, but I’m showing the oil to be about ¼” past the second raised point. I’m assuming over full. How long do you have to let the vehicle sit before getting an accurate oil reading? And does it have to be perfectly level? How much oil would I guess I’m pulling out? Did I miss anything?

If you are over the second mark take out about 1/2 quart run the ski and wait 5 minutes and check it again (repeat process until mark is good) I always like to be a little lower than the second mark, ski runs better like that....
(dont forget ski must be level to get the reading accurate)...

Having trouble with oil level
I’m having trouble getting an accurate reading, and I have the ski level.
I take the dip stick out, clean it, put back in, take out again, look at oil level, ½” past high mark.
I turn engine on for 15 seconds, let cool for approx 5-10 min.
Repeat oil test, now its ¼” past high mark.
I decide to pull a bit out. I suck 2 shot glasses of oil out.
I turn engine on for 15 seconds, let cool for approx 5-10 min.
Repeat oil test, now its ¼” under high mark.
I figure I pulled to much out, So I pour 1 shot glass back in.
Decide I’m going to take on the water so the engine can run longer, before I do I retest after waiting 30 mins
I turn engine on for 15 seconds, let cool for approx 5-10 min.
Repeat oil test, now its ¼” lower than the high mark.
I run the machine on the river, can’t achieve max RPM due to chop. I bring it home, flush it. I don’t let it cool down; I test oil, now its 1” higher than high mark.
Let it cool 15 mins
Repeat oil test, now its ½” past the high mark.
I just can’t figure out my oil level, any other suggestions? Dose it sound like I’m missing something?

I run my oil half way between the bends on a hot engine. Cold I think it is about at the lower bend.
So you want to make sure your engine is level, let it warm up for 5 or 10 minutes turn it off and check the oil, it should be in the middle of the two bends.

1. warm up engine
2. get pwc level
3. let "rest" for 30 seconds
4. Check oil. One the low side between the "bumps" is correct
