I'm assuming you mean "break in" and this time around I took my RXP-X on its first outing and idled it around for about 10 minutes to get it nice and warm and did some light throttling to make sure the hoses don't blow off, which the one from the waterbox did. So I had to put that back on and tighten it and then I went back out and rode the shit out of it! Actually I wasn't that hard on it but I did quite a few wide open throttle for just a second and then varied the throttle off and on for the 2 hours I put on it that day. I've had it out twice. Got 4 hours on it and the 3rd and 4th hour I've been riding it a little harder, but not pegged for any longer than 5 seconds or so. I've seen 8040 rpms so I think it's strong and I've had no hiccups (well besides the hose but that was my fault).

Major concept for breaking your X is to drive it like you stole it for a couple of runs, then take it easy for a couple of minutes, then half throttle runs again, and then full throttle like you are running aways from the police for first 10 hours and it is consider broken in....

from said a couple of posts above, I wouldn't drive it like I stole it, however, you don't want to baby it either. Going full throttle on a brand new engine is the quickest way to screw up or shorten the life of your engine. I've seen this mistake made numerous times. A friend of mine did that with his new RXT, and blew his engine twice. After he got his 3rd engine put in (luckily sea-doo didn't charge him for the engines which i was surprised), he finally settled down and did a proper break in, and now isn't having any problems. With any engine though, the best way to break it in is you want to keep varying your rpms, give it quick sudden accelerations followed by letting off the throttle. Vacuum is what sets in the piston rings properly, and you get the most vacuum when you let off the throttle after quick accelerations. When I say quick accelerations, i'm not talking about full throttle. Maybe 1/2 to 2/3 throttle.

Does anyone know what manufacturers do with their engines? I'm just curious. Do they put it together on the assembly line and never crank it up until the dealer gets it and puts the fluids in it and they just fire it up to make sure it starts? I thought I read somewhere that Lamborghini breaks their engines quite aggressively and with much time on them then they install them in each car.

Sea-doo doesn't break their engines in before they put them in. If you read the owners manual, it tells you that you need to break your engine in properly, and tells you how to break it in, which is of the form i described in my earlier post. I can't vouch for what other manufacturers do though.
