Is this a good oil to use in '04 RXP?
Amsoil has this marine grade oil. They recommend it for use in 4 stroke outboards and pwc engines. Any thoughts?

Marine Synthetic Motor Oil (WCF)

amsoil is good oil, I have been using the
SAE 0W-40 Formula 4-Stroke Synthetic Motor Oil
for about 22 hours on my RXT with no problems, I think some of the old timers here use this oil also.
this oil does not have the friction modifiers so it wont effect the clutch on the supercharger.

There is NO REASON whatsoever that someone cannot use a different alternative so long as it meets all requirements of our SC'ed engines.
the problem IS NOT all synthetics in general. YOU CAN run synethetcs assuming JASO MA and wet clutch specific designed oil

I have been running the Amsoil for about 15 hours (and a whole bunch of that WOT) now on my stage II RXP. I am very pleased with it...Several others have had nothing but good experiences as well...
Doesn't seem to be breaking down (at least not visually and to touch) as fast as the conventional oil...After 15 hours the conventional oil felt like water whereas the synthetic still "feels" like oil...
I haven't sent it off for testing or anything but truthfully I see no need to...
As Shibby said...the most important thing is a JASO MA oil designed for a wet clutch (which means no friction modifiers if synthetic...)

The other Amsoil oil that you mentioned for outboards, is designed specifically for 4-stroke outbaords and non-SC engines. Alot of members here are trying out the Amsoil products. Other members and myself have researched this topics, makes for good reading...
Play around in the search function for Castrol Oil and I think you will find it there. Maybe someone can post a direct link for you... Have Fun!...PR...

I'm thinking that snkypete said the correct Amsoil was for motorcycles? which have a wet clutch. Search for Amsoil and member snkypete. Whatever Amsoil he says is correct, you can take it to the bank 'cause he's a distributor and spoke with them directly for their recommendation.
