Jet Pump Cone
Is there anything to be gained by changing the shape of the jet cone? I noticed that mine is a little larger than the jet pump center. So the water has to go around it more. Does this make any sense or am I just nuts?

u are right... and some manufacturers do sell different sized cones, but much of the difference is going to be noticed in your holeshot, not so much top end.
changing the cones is more or less very similar to chaning the diameter of the venturi... brings your rpms up and down and changes the volume of water that can exit the venturi and the thrust behind that water.

I think somefun is refering to the point at which the pump and pump cone face meet. After u mentioned that in another post I thought I would check my pump and they're the same diameter...maybe just some manufacturing tolerances but I think the flow should be uninterupted and sanding it down is a good idea

Yeah I sanded it down so there was no difference. But I was wondering if changing the pump cone would do anything or not. Shib how does it change the hole shot? Does it hook better or allow more water thru it?

If you put a smaller cone on, there will be more volume inside the venturi, making slightly less pressure in that are, allowing you to get rid of water quicker. For holeshot it will be affected like that. You can get the water moving through your pump easier.
