The freezer method for the wear ring removal works great. I couldn't believe how good that worked. Put it in the freezer checked it 30 mins later gave the wear ring a pull came right out, new one fell right in!!!

    Thanks for the info!!!!

The allen wrench is 12mm for both. The splined prop holder tool is different. GTX won't fit for an RXP/RXT prop.

take the venturi/steeringnozzle/reversebucket assmbly (right) off the pump (left)

spline tool goes in here (wear ring is the white liner around the prop.)

    12mm allen goes in here

one side, either the spline tool or 12mm allen goes into a bench vise. I put the spline tool in the bench vise, slip a 3ft breaker bar (3ft 1inch galvanized pipe from lowes) over the allen wrench and turn.

I've found its a lot easier to separate the venturi/steering/reverse from the pump housing while the whole assembly is still attached to the hull. When reassembling it also makes it a lot easier to thread the 17mm pump bolts back in.

Ditto. That's how I always do it.

I'm trying to gather all the tools I will need for a wear ring swap but I can't find the page to buy the red/blue loctite.

I want to buy the loctite, the grease, etc... can someone point me in the right direction?

any autoparts store will have the loctite and grease, if you are worried about the grease then hit up your local seadoo dealer.

Any other tricks to getting the wear rings out?? The pumps on my Speedster have black wear rings that will just not come out! I left them in the freezer over night and the still won't budge. I can get a good grip with the channel locks, and I'm not a small guy so I've pulled very hard. Any tips will be very much appreciated.

PS: I tried a little penetrating oil already...

You may have to cut it out with a sawsall. You probably have one of the newer ones that have to be cut out and the new one pressed in. Don't worry too much about scratching or nicking the pump housing as it should not effect taking it out or putting a new one in.
